Teach Your Dog to Hangout

Start at home, where your dog feels comfortable and distractions are low. Stay calm and quiet, and when your dog settles or relaxes, reward them. Keep practicing regularly so calm behavior becomes familiar and rewarding.

Once they can settle at home, gradually take the practice into more distracting environments like a quiet café, park, or your office. Start with short sessions and reward calm behavior. As your dog gets more comfortable, slowly increase the time and level of distraction.

The goal isn’t to make your dog stay still. It’s to help them learn that they can relax and be present with you, wherever you go.
